How to Create a Project in Elite Core

Projects provide the central workspace for organizing customer work in Elite Core. Creating the project correctly helps ensure that products, documents, files, notes, and later sales activity remain connected to the right customer and project details.

Before you begin

Confirm that you have the correct customer, project description, important dates, assigned representative, and any initial notes available. The customer must already exist in Elite Core before it can be selected for the project.

Before saving, confirm that you selected the correct customer and entered the correct project details. These details may be used throughout the project workflow.

Important

Create the project

  1. Open the Projects or Sales area in Elite Core.
  2. Start a new project using the available project-creation action.
  3. Search for the customer and select the correct existing customer record.
  4. If the customer does not appear in the search results, create the customer first, then return to the project-creation process.
  5. Enter a clear project name or description that will help employees identify the work later.
  6. Enter any important project dates. Include the requested in-hands date when it is known and applicable.
  7. Assign the appropriate sales representative or project owner.
  8. Add any initial project notes that other employees may need when reviewing or working on the project.
  9. Review the customer, project description, dates, representative, and notes for accuracy.
  10. Save the project.
  11. Confirm that Elite Core opens the newly created project workspace.

What happens after the project is created

The project workspace becomes the central location for managing the customer’s work. From the project, employees can add and manage products, prepare estimates, store files, review notes, and create later sales documents as the work progresses.

Continue by adding the products, quantities, pricing, artwork, decorations, services, and other information required for the project. Keeping this information together helps other employees understand the current scope and status of the work.

Common problems

The customer cannot be found

Check the spelling of the customer name and confirm that you are searching for the correct record. If the customer does not yet exist in Elite Core, create the customer before creating the project.

The wrong customer was selected

Do not continue adding project information until the customer assignment has been corrected. Confirm the customer name and related details before saving whenever possible.

Important project information is missing

Review the project name or description, requested dates, assigned representative, and notes. Add the missing information before the project moves further into estimating, purchasing, proofing, production, or shipping.

The project workspace does not open

Confirm that the project was saved successfully. Return to the project list or search for the customer and project. If the project cannot be found, report the issue to an Elite Core administrator or support contact.
